How the analysis works

What actually happens, technically, when you submit a track

The analysis combines objective acoustic measurements with a classification model calibrated on an internal reference set, based on phisiological effect frequency selection, to determine the track's dominant emotional state and how close it is to its ideal state profile.

Measured parameters

Tempo (BPM)

Track speed, detected directly from the waveform.

Key

The dominant tonal center (major/minor and note).

Energy (RMS)

Perceived energy level, on a 1-10 scale.

Valence

How positive/negative the track's emotional "coloring" is.

Arousal

The induced physiological activation level (low → very high).

Spectral centroid

How "bright" or "dark" the overall timbre is.

Harmonic ratio

The proportion of sustained tonal content vs. percussive/noisy content.

Rhythm complexity

The variability and density of rhythmic patterns.

Classification happens on a valence/arousal map, calibrated on more than 10,000 of previously analyzed soundtracks.

Low valence, low arousal — melancholic, introspective sadness, without active tension.

Low valence, high arousal — tension, restlessness, an unpleasant state of alertness.

Acute stress

Low valence, very high arousal — sudden alarm, hypervigilance, a startle-reflex response to an acute stressor.

The conformity score

The certificate includes a conformity score (0-100), showing how close the track is to the ideal acoustic profile of its identified state. A high score confirms the track is well-suited for its declared use (e.g. relaxation in a spa, focus in an office, energizing in a gym).
